To a new year

So 2007 is almost over. It’s funny how time flies by, many times I still write 2003, which was the year I entered college. So I guess what I’m about to write is not the sum of 2007, but mainly what I’ve learnt in general these past four years, and my resolutions. 

• I’ve discovered that there are less than a handful of people who deserve you unconditional love and attention.
• Good grades are not everything. Sucking up to professors makes you look cheap (I wish she’d stop doing that) 
• I learnt that if you’re not happy with your image, then you’re not happy period.
• Boys and girls – being friends? Doesn’t work. Steer clear of that. 
• Losing weight is hard, but it’s worth it.
• Maintaining your weight is harder – I don’t know how to do it. 
• Imperfections make you “you”. I wouldn’t change anything for the world. 
• No one deserves to make you feel empty, bitter or sad. Just move on. 
• Not everything your parents tell you is true  :) I’ve met some amazing girls through this blog, and I am grateful for it.
• Music still makes my day. Any day.
• It’s ok to mope to your friends for a week about your broken heart. Any more is just too much!!
• Putting my guard up emotionally has been hard. But thinking it’s easier otherwise was a mistake. 

My resolutions ever since 2000 were two things: Pray more often – eat less often. 

Thank god, I’ve finally reached those goals. I have to keep working on them, but this years resolutions are going to be selfish. Woohoo

• I want to put myself first. No more being there for everyone.
• If you want my affection, you have to work for it.
• I want to learn a new language.
• I’m a Cancerian, my shell is my sanctuary. When I am there- I want no one to bother me. 
• I won’t marry someone I am not completely satisfied with.  
• My priority scale will be adjusted. 
• I will throw out more junk from my closet.
• I will start donating properly to charity inshallah.

I hope I will achieve these I hope all of you come to realize your resolutions
